Dentist in Victoria Village

Three minutes east of Victoria Terrace

The clinic is at 1720 Lawrence Avenue East, a short run east from the Lawrence and Victoria Park intersection. If you shop at Victoria Terrace or take your kids to Victoria Village Public School, you are already closer to us than to most clinics in North York.

Dr. Daniel Gibbs and Dr. Sasan Shahrbandi see patients here until 8 PM Monday through Thursday and until 5 PM on Saturday. Parking is free, we bill insurance directly, and we are an approved provider under the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

Where we are

Victoria Park Avenue is the line between North York and Scarborough. We are just on the other side of it, which means our address says Scarborough while the drive from most of Victoria Village takes under five minutes.

Victoria Terrace Shopping Centre at 1448 Lawrence Ave E is the easiest landmark. From its parking lot, head east on Lawrence, past Pharmacy Avenue, and we are on the north side of the road. Dixie Land Plaza is directly across from us.

From the southern end of the neighbourhood near Eglinton it is a longer run, closer to ten minutes, but still a single road most of the way.

Paying for treatment: insurance, CDCP, and no coverage

There are dentists closer to Topham Park than we are. Three things bring people here anyway.

If you are on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

We are an approved CDCP provider and submit claims to the plan directly. You pay only your co-payment at the time of the visit.

CDCP does not work as a reimbursement programme. You cannot pay the full amount and claim it back later, which is why it matters that your clinic is enrolled.

CDCP coverage by household income
Household incomeCDCP paysYou pay
Under $70,000100%Nothing
$70,000 to $79,99960%40%
$80,000 to $89,99940%60%

Figures apply to households without private dental insurance.

Exams, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, scaling and simple extractions need no pre-approval. Crowns, bridges, dentures and complex work do, and we handle that paperwork.

Coverage has to be renewed every year. If you missed the renewal window you can reapply, but treatment received during the gap is not covered.

If you have private insurance

We bill most major plans directly, so you pay only the portion your plan does not cover. Bring your card to the first visit. If you are not sure what your plan includes, call with the details and we will check before you commit to anything.

If you have no coverage at all

Tell us when you book. We quote the full cost before treatment starts, and larger cases can be paid in stages rather than in one go. Nothing gets added to the bill that you have not agreed to first.

FAQs

You Asked, We Answered

Three to five minutes by car from the Lawrence and Victoria Park end, around ten from the Eglinton end. Straight east on Lawrence Avenue East.

The 54 Lawrence East stops directly outside in both directions. From Victoria Park Avenue, the 24 connects north to Lawrence.

Take the 24 Victoria Park north to Lawrence, then the 54 east.

Yes. Our address is in Scarborough but Victoria Park Avenue is the only thing between us, and a large share of our patients live on the North York side of it.

Both. We are an approved CDCP provider and submit claims directly, and we bill most private insurers directly as well.
