Dentist in Parkwoods, North York
The full case handled in one place, minutes down Victoria Park
Lawrence Dental Centre is a short drive south-east of Parkwoods, at 1720 Lawrence Avenue East. For anything beyond a routine checkup, an implant, a set of veneers, a full smile plan, most Parkwoods dentists refer the work out to a second office. We do it here, in one place, with Dr. Daniel Gibbs, who has placed implants since 2000 and teaches implant dentistry at the University of Toronto.
We are open until 8 PM Monday through Thursday and until 5 on Saturday, parking is free, and we bill insurance directly.

- Open today until 8:00 PM
- Accepting new patients
- Free parking
Where we are
Parkwoods sits north-west of the clinic, on the North York side of the Don Valley. We are down Victoria Park Avenue, a straight run south to Lawrence.
The easiest landmark is Parkway Mall at 85 Ellesmere Road. It is roughly halfway between Parkwoods and the clinic, and if you shop there you are already most of the way to us. From the mall, continue to Victoria Park, south to Lawrence, then east. We are on the north side of Lawrence Avenue East, across from Dixie Land Plaza.
From the York Mills end of Parkwoods it is a longer run, closer to twelve minutes. From the Broadlands and Castlegrove side it is under ten.
Where we are
Whichever way you travel, it is a short trip south.
- By Car: South on Victoria Park Avenue to Lawrence Avenue East, then east. Around ten minutes from the Broadlands and Castlegrove end of Parkwoods, closer to twelve from the York Mills end near Parkwoods Village. From the Donalda area, take York Mills to Victoria Park and head south. Parking at the clinic is free.
- By Bus (TTC Route 24 Victoria Park): The 24 runs the length of Victoria Park Avenue and connects to the 54 Lawrence East, which stops directly outside the clinic. From most of Parkwoods it is a single transfer.
- By Bus (TTC Route 25 Don Mills / Route 54): From the western side of Parkwoods, the 25 Don Mills connects east toward Victoria Park and the 54 Lawrence East.
- From Highway 401 or the DVP: Exit at Victoria Park and head north to Lawrence, or take the Don Valley Parkway to Lawrence and head east.
Opening Hours
Every treatment, one address
No referral across town for implants, orthodontics or oral surgery.
The reason to drive a few minutes further is simple. A crown, an implant, a full set of veneers or a straightening plan does not send you to a second specialist across the city. It is planned and finished here, by the same team, in the same chair.
Same-day appointments for pain, swelling, breaks and lost fillings
Thin covers for chips, stains and gaps
Take-home trays or one-visit in-clinic Zoom
Clear aligners for adults and teens
Fixed brackets, metal or ceramic
Rebuilds a cracked or heavily filled tooth
Closes a gap using the teeth beside it
Permanent replacement for a missing tooth
Removal when a tooth can't be saved

Paying for treatment: insurance, CDCP, and no coverage
There are dentists closer to Topham Park than we are. Three things bring people here anyway.
If you are on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
We are an approved CDCP provider and submit claims to the plan directly. You pay only your co-payment at the time of the visit. CDCP does not work as a reimbursement programme, so it matters that your clinic is enrolled.
| Household income | CDCP pays | You pay |
|---|---|---|
| Under $70,000 | 100% | Nothing |
| $70,000 to $79,999 | 60% | 40% |
| $80,000 to $89,999 | 40% | 60% |
If you are retired and opted out of a pension dental plan before 11 December 2023 and cannot opt back in, you may still qualify even though a pension plan is involved:
If you have private insurance
We bill most major plans directly, so you pay only the portion your plan does not cover. Bring your card to the first visit. For a larger treatment plan we can send a pre-determination to your insurer first, so you know exactly what is covered before anything begins.
If you have no coverage at all
Tell us when you book. We quote the full cost before treatment starts, and larger cosmetic or implant cases can be paid in stages. Nothing gets added to the bill that you have not agreed to first.
Hours and same-day appointments
Four evenings a week until 8 PM and a full Saturday. Longer treatments like implants and veneers take more than one visit, and the evening slots make it easier to fit those around a work schedule without taking days off.
We also hold time each day for urgent cases. If you call with pain, swelling or a broken tooth, we will usually see you the same day.
